Room 19 Big Class Band

After many weeks of fun practice with Jinny Jo, we now have a 'band' to be proud of!

Our 'Magic Beans'

Inspired By Jack from 'Jack and the Beanstalk', we decided to grow our own 'magic beans'. They're not much to look at now, but we will be watching closely over the next days and weeks. We were surprised that only after one week in the 'incubator' plastic bag, our seeds had sprouted and were ready to plant into little pots. Watch this space...

Welcome to Term 4

Hello and welcome back.
Last term we were very busy learning about Little Red Riding Hood, making the Three Bears Cottage and understanding how mischievous Goldilocks can be.
We also made Gingerbread Men, and were lucky enough to eat them before they had the chance to run away! Although we think one may be on the run!
We had fun sketching the Big Bad Wolf disguised in Granny's clothes and also made Wanted posters of the wolf. Let us know if you see this character lurking around!

Last week after our Art Team cleaned out the art room, they found some spare wood and shreaded paper. We thought it would be nice to give the wood to our friends at Botany Downs kindy, and the shreaded paper to their guinea pigs, so we paid a visit to the kindy the very next day. We couldn't see the guinea pigs as one of them was due to have babies within the next few days. Bronwyn told us that if we draw a map of where our class is, when the baby guinea pigs arrive, they will return the visit. Yesterday we were so happy to see Bronwyn with three friends from kindy, as well as Mum guinea pig with her two new babies!! We got to hold Mum guinea pig while she was in her snuggle sack. We learnt what guinea pigs like to eat, and that they are born with fur and with their eyes open!

We were on a two and a half hour deadline to complete a forest scene of Little Red Riding Hoods house to Granny's. Of course we had to include Little Red and the Wolf. It was up to us as to what else we wanted to add to our models. We all got down to work and really enjoyed planning and constructing our models.

Yesterday morning Ms Johnston, Ms Lowans and Ms Lala told us about our class blog. We are learning how to post our work on the blog and how to post comments on other class blogs.
